3. Free write: What do you think of when you hear the word snake?  What comes to mind when you hear the word beach?
4. Share out
5. Look at Objective and Subjective examples of snake and beach (encyclopedia entry on snake and poem and encyclopedia entry on beach  and poem)
6. Review examples of Active v. Passive diction
7. Review Concrete v. Abstract diction and read the poem "The Pitcher" and the poem "Cobb Would Have Caught It" (see me for the Diction Packet that includes these poems)
