3. Read, complete and discuss various diction exercises:  Levels of Diction , Jargon Example, encyclopedia entry on California (analyze for use of literal and figurative language)

Reminder: You should be reading your third novel.

Friday, Feb. 26: Finish reading and finish dialogue journals (dialogue journals are due in class today)

Tuesday, March 1: Outline for essay is due

Thursday, March 3: First typed draft of essay is due

Wednesday, March 9: Final draft of essay is due
